Marketing is a creative job, even though it brings a lot of uncreative tasks upon any person who decides to work within this field. It’s important to leave space in your schedule for activities that help stimulate the creative side of your mind.
As part of my Strategy Series, I’m talking with fellow marketing pros at the top of their game to give entrepreneurs and marketers an inside look at proven strategies you might also be able to leverage to grow your business or career. Today I had the pleasure of talking with Yauhen Razhko.
Yauhen Razhko is the Founder and CEO of Hypetrain, a full-cycle platform designed to help any-size agencies, brands, media companies, and freelancers execute and manage their influencer marketing campaigns. Yauhen is a thought leader in the industry with 10+ years of experience in IT and marketing.
Thank you so much for doing this with us! Before we dig in, our readers would love to learn a bit more about you. Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I made a decision to work with the internet and internet technologies early on. I studied media and communications at the European Humanities University in Vilnius, Lithuania. I chose this direction deliberately because it was a natural step toward what I wanted to do.
When I graduated, I got a job at a company producing artisanal small wares. The business was based in Belarus, and I was hired to lead their European branch with headquarters in Lithuania. Through this job, I got my first experience as a product manager when I worked on the online store for the company in tandem with a developer and a designer.
After leaving that job, I began to work with startups, and around 2011 I eventually came up with my own idea for a startup — an app for live streaming via smartphone. It was my first full-scale experience of launching a tech company.
