Above; an example of a faceless marketing video from TikTok

And a particular writer is pioneering this style of marketing. The writer, who I won’t name and shame, preaches a system of using other people’s images to promote selling books on Amazon. This writer claims this simple method is the fastest and most lucrative way to sell books.

Recently, I’ve taken to TikTok to market and establish my brand. I’m someone who records myself talking about my book, the writing experience, or I’m vlogging about my life.

I don’t use images belonging to other people, nor does any of my content feature other people I don’t know. I don’t use customers to stand in for me. I am the face.

When I stumbled across this particular author doling out this advice, I challenged them, questioning whether my method was wrong.

The writer said the way I was doing things was acceptable but a slow grind. If I actually want to make money, I would use the “hiding” method.

This conversation didn’t convince me to change. Despite this author’s claims, there is no way I couldn’t be the face of my brand or my writing.

And you couldn’t pay me to market my business as a faceless brand.

Here’s why.
