Examining some approaches used by people dominating my feeds lately. (Not an NFT article this time — unusual for me these days — but keep in mind that video marketing could well apply to NFT drops!)

If you follow me here on Medium, then you’re probably into NFTs. But today I’d like to jump away from blockchain stuff and focus more on marketing. (That said, keep in mind that NFT teams need to market, too. So, this info should be broadly applicable across many market niches.)

In browsing various web sites and social channels in recent months, I’ve noticed that a number of accounts seem to be really racking up viewers / followers / subscribers / fans. As I’ve encountered some of these people across various platforms, I began to wonder what these people’s true reach actually is across platforms.

Specifically, I’m referring to various people who specialize in posting short videos — be they TikTok vids, Facebook/Insta “reels” or YouTube “shorts.” It seems like the iron is particularly hot for this type of marketing and fan base building. And, while I believe this article will be super helpful for a lot of people, I’m actually personally interested in this stuff for a personal project I’m working on (a book I’ve written for which I plan to do video marketing).

So, let’s look at a few and see if we can learn anything about building a strategy for reaching the maximum number of viewers / fans as possible. I’m not going to discuss these people as much as I’m going to focus on determining their total reach over the major social platforms. So this post is more about stats, and then we’ll see if anything stands out from there. But I think, for anyone interested in pursuing video marketing, reviewing these accounts (how they’re setup, how their profiles read, how they look, which platforms seem best overall, etc.) could really help you optimize your chances of doing well.
