Content creator, Loryn Powell, is well known for her viral videos testing alcoholic drinks and her particular love for hard seltzer. Although, she’s currently taking a break from her usual style of content after recently announcing she is 5 months pregnant.
Only a week after the reveal she received her first ever White Claw PR package. What at first appeared to be an ignorant slip-up turned out to be some of the most innovative marketing I’ve ever seen.
The box had a large sticker on the front that read “do not open for 9 months” and was filled with 8 White Claw cans. Each can featured a unique swing tag saying things like “first night out as a mom” and “first wedding anniversary as a mom”.
Not only was this an adorable gift but it referenced Loryn’s previously posted video where she taped 3 positive pregnancy tests to a box of White Claw’s.
The simple but thoughtful PR package highlights White Claw’s social intelligence. A few pieces of paper and some string added to their usual PR box became a genius way to utilize an influencer who can’t even currently enjoy their products.
I’m not the only one who thought it was successful. Loryn’s video has already received hundreds of comments with many praising White Claw and saying it’s convinced them to become a fan of the brand.
I predict similar “open when” hard seltzer boxes will become popular gifts for expecting mothers this Summer.
