Snapchat is now providing its users access to Linktree’s link-in-bio tool, enabling them to showcase their work and other profiles on the platform.
The move marks an overdue step for the social network, which previously restricted link inclusion in creator profiles to brands and Snap Stars — prominent creators within the network.
Following the initial announcement in April 2023, the partnership has progressed as it now enables individuals with public profiles to incorporate links to their Linktree profiles. Snap has extended this privilege to all users aged 18 and above, allowing them to create a public profile and include relevant links.
To include their Linktree or any other URL, Snapchat users can navigate to their public profile, click the “Edit” option, and choose “Website or Linktree.” The feature not only allows users to add any desired URL but also grants Snapchat profiles enhanced visibility on the Linktree platform.
Creators utilizing the link-in-bio tool can now also exhibit their Snapchat profile on their Linktree page by incorporating a social icon and a personalized button such as “Add me on Snapchat.”
Furthermore, Linktree will be prominently featured in Snapchat’s default share sheet, expanding its reach and visibility within the Snapchat community.
As part of this integration, Linktree is extending users a special promotion of Linktree Pro for three months. Linktree Pro subscriptions provide additional functionalities such as email and phone number collection, the ability to embed the latest tweets and YouTube videos, as well as NFT lock capabilities.
The announcement follows Snapchat’s recent expansion of its revenue-sharing program for eligible creators, considering factors such as follower count and monthly Snap views.
Additionally, the platform introduced a Public Stories feature, enabling users to share their Stories with a wider audience beyond their followers or friends. The Wall Street Journal reported that these initiatives have gained momentum, drawing attention from notable individuals like comedian Adam Waheed.
Linktree continues to enhance its offerings as a leading link-in-bio tool for creators by introducing additional payment services and social media integrations.
Last year, TikTok partnered with Linktree to introduce its Profile Kit. The collaboration aimed to enhance the functionality and capabilities of TikTok profiles. Moreover, in January 2023, Linktree expanded its range of features by introducing a new option called “Buy me a Gift,” providing creators with an additional way to engage and monetize their audiences.
In early June 2023, Linktree acquired Bento, a link-in-bio company supported by Sequoia. The exact details regarding the integration of this acquired product have not been disclosed.
