For almost 10 years, it has been my big dream to be a well-known influencer. In 2014, I watched famous Finnish content producers on YouTube at the time. Only now for a couple of years I have wanted to be a Keynote speaker at some event, e.g. Today I follow a person named Mario Nawfal on Twitter. He is a rich, well-known and skilled entrepreneur. In addition to all this, he knows how to speak to a large group of people convincingly and skillfully so that the interest does not stop.
Today, I have an average of about 300 people following me on Twitter. Not a single one of them reacts to my tweets in any way. Then why are they following me? That is a very good question. Another good question is why Twitter hasn’t added interaction tips in some form to Twitter at all. Now that Elon Musk is in trouble, the situation might turn for the better. I would like to talk with people about different things around certain themes, discuss, exchange opinions and learn from them. Today, it feels successful if a tweet gets more than 100 views per day. It’s nothing really. Mario gets an average of 100k-300k views on his tweets. That’s fine. At least hundreds of comments. That’s enough to read.
It’s funny that I’m active on twitter and yet the reception to my tweets is so quiet. Mario has even liked some of my own replies to his tweets, but apparently that doesn’t bring visibility either. Exactly one tweet in my own twitter era has exploded. It happened last fall when I wrote that I own 6k algo coins related to the Algorand cryptocurrency project. It got over 100 likes and over 5k views. However, the craziest thing was that almost all of those 100 likes came within the first 24 hours. That’s why this tweet is very exceptional in its own history. I don’t even know why it blew up so big. The only thing that was known is that the topic was growing at the time. Since then, I’ve tried similar tweets, but nothing major has happened. Time will tell if there will be another tweet that gets at least 10 likes in 12h or even 24h.
In theory, 5–10 likes for each tweet and 5–10 comments would be enough for me. So not even much. While writing this, I started to think about whether it would be possible to get an article in a magazine related to a subject of interest. I really want visibility. I see problems in society that should be addressed quickly, so that the next generations don’t make the same mistakes or, in the worst case, make previous big mistakes worse. Society develops all the time through things happening around, the internet and social media on the internet. Music also shapes society a lot. To this point, someone could say: why don’t you go into politics? It doesn’t feel out of place at all. I simply do not know how to discuss political matters in a civilized manner. I am not at all interested in participating in the discussion about increasing wind power or how taxes should be allocated. Maybe the only things there could be entrepreneurship and cases of bullying between people, undergrading, etc. racism.
An influencer has to know the basics of his subject and tell people about it clearly, articulating it from the root and about the things around him and how they are linked to the main topic itself. The influencer has to be genuinely interested in the things he is talking about, it can be seen from afar if the motivation suddenly disappears in a matter of weeks. You can always say that you have changed the subject, but it is also good to remember that you do not always find a new target group easily or quickly. In a good case, the old target group is molded into the new one and stays together. However, this is rarely the case. In today’s internet, patience is a rare trait. I can easily admit that I skip a tiktok video or a song on spotify if it sounds like a content or genre that doesn’t excite me. I don’t exactly have that famous good patience. Certain topics are very present on Twitter, and that’s why Twitter is so special to me these days. For technology, crypto and politics nerds, twitter is a golden cradle. One person might receive more than 10 tweets a day and no one seems to be bothered by it. It also shows that this person in question knows how to produce content really well, so many people get hooked on the content without realizing it.
Now that I’m starting to think things over, I decided at the same time that I would contact the local newspaper and ask if they would like to do a story with me, for example, about bullying or diversity. I have a lot of things I want to talk about and that’s why I’m going to start recording the podcast every week and give speeches as a keynote person. I think this helps as long as I keep the quality high in the content I post online.
